Saroj and Siddhu informed the SDM that former JCT mill workers have been facing severe financial hardships due to non-payment of their Provident Fund (PF), wages and dues.

According to these leaders, the SDM assured them that around 80 per cent of the documentation process for PF disbursement has already been completed, and the workers’ dues would soon be credited directly to their bank accounts. He also advised workers not to fall prey to misinformation or false promises from any quarters. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kamal Saroj stated that they were hopeful the administration will expedite the process and ensure justice. He also issued a warning: “If PF documentation is not completed within a week, we will be forced to stage a protest outside the PF Commissioner’s office in Jalandhar.”
