Jio’s cables ‘catch’ fire, FIR lodged
Jalandhar: As many as 15 bundles of optical fibre cable of Jio (Reliance) which were lying in the open in the Surya Enclave area caught fire in the wee hours on December 26. An FIR in the case has been registered under Section 435 of the IPC at Rama Mandi police station on Sunday. The cops said they were not sure if the cables caught fire by accident or someone set them on fire. Sulakhan Singh, SHO, Rama Mandi police station, said, “Jio cables were lying in 15 bundles in the open in Kamal Vihar area. They caught fire in the wee hours on December 26. An FIR has been lodged. We cannot say whether it was done deliberately. We are going through the CCTV footage of the area.” TNS
