The monthly medal round of golf was held at Jahan Khelan Golf Club, Hoshiarpur, on Sunday. It was attended by several golfer’s of the area. Dilbagh Singh Johal, District and Sessions Judge, Hoshiarpur, and Jaspal Singh Sodhi, Seceratary of the club, won the round.

The runners-up were Lt Gen JS Dhillon (retd) and DSP Malkiat Singh. The prize for the longest drive was won by Dr Gurinder Singh Bajwa. Maninder Pal Singh, captain of the Jahan Khelan Golf Club, said the monthly medal round would be held every month to promote the game in the area.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
