Kanungos appointed on posts of tehsildar in dist

After the recent major reshuffle in the Revenue Department, the administration on Friday appointed kanungos on the posts of Sub Registrar, otherwise meant for tehsildars in the district.

Six tehsildars and 12 naib tehsildars had got relieved from Jalandhar on Thursday. In their place, 13 naib tehsildars had been made to join here. Since there was no tehsildar who got a posting in, DC Dr Himanshu Aggarwal chose to deploy kanungos on the job.

Among those who got appointed as Sub Registrars were Pholariwal kanungo Manmohan Singh, who got posted in Jalandhar-1, Nakodar kanungo Hussan Lal who got posted as SRO Nakodar, Wariana kanungo Naresh Kumar who got posted as SRO Phillaur, Jalandhar-1 kanungo Avninder Singh who got posted as SRO Jalandhar-2 and Shahkot kanungo Varinder Kumar who got posted as SRO Shahkot.

A total of 235 documents were registered in Jalandhar, including 107 in Jalandhar-1, 75 in Jalandhar-2, 21 in Nakodar, 12 in Phillaur, eight in Goraya, six in Nurmhal and four in Lohian.
