Kapurthala administration launches helpline to file complaint against travel agents
To prevent fraud and malpractice by unauthorised travel agents, the district administration has launched a dedicated helpline number for the public to lodge complaints. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar Panchal announced that individuals, who had grievances against any travel agent, could directly contact the helpline number 01822-233777.
He said, “Besides, Assistant Commissioner (General), Kapurthala, has been appointed as the nodal officer to oversee complaints. People can also register their complaints at the Chief Minister’s Assistance Centre located at the District Administrative Complex in Kapurthala.”
The DC further said 384 travel agents were registered under the Punjab Travel Professions Regulation Act in the Kapurthala district. The list of registered agents was available on the official website —Kapurthala.nic.in — for verifying their registration status before availing their services. The administration has urged residents to only engage with authorised and registered travel agents. In case of any fraudulent activities, the public must use the helpline number for prompt action. — OC
