Kapurthala cops to provide skill training to reformed addicts

In collaboration with C-PYTE , teams to be led by DSPs

The Kapurthala police in collaboration with Centre For Training And Employment of Punjab (C-PYTE) have come up with a strategy to impart skill training to reformed addicts, who have managed to free themselves of the shackles of drug abuse.

Kapurthala SSP Vatsala Gupta said the top priority would be to engage the maximum youths so that not only coul they join mainstream society but also so they could play a significant role in the development of the state.

Talking about this programme, the SSP said the youth would get various kinds of skill training by professionals and after that placement officers would assist them in finding suitable jobs or to start their own ventures even.

She said special camps would be organised at village/mohalla levels to spread awareness among people about the programme. She also said people could directly contact Phagwara DSP Jaspreet Singh (80545-60086) and Dr Varun joshi (85568-30060) for more imformation.

Besides, for Kapurthala subdivision DSP Harpreet Singh (94171-71235) and for Sultanpur Lodhi subdivision DSP Vipan Kumar (97800-02979) could be contacted, she said.
