Kapurthala man dies in Dubai road accident

The family is seeking assistance from both the Indian and Punjab governments to facilitate the repatriation of his body

Navjot Singh, a resident of Sultanpur Lodhi who had been working in Dubai as a tanker driver, died yesterday when the tanker he was driving overturned. Although he was rushed to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries before any medical intervention could be provided.

Navjot had moved to Dubai in November 2024 in search of better employment opportunities. He was the only brother of two sisters.

His father, a Granthi Singh serving at the local gurdwara, was reportedly at the gurdwara when the family received the news. They are seeking assistance from both the Indian and Punjab governments to facilitate the repatriation of Navjot’s body to India, so that he may be given a final farewell in accordance with religious and cultural rites.

The family hopes that the government will act swiftly to ensure that Navjot’s remains are brought home without delay.
