Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Wednesday paid obeisance at Shri Vishwakarma Temple on Banga Road here. During his visit, the Governor underlined the significance of community institutions in fostering social harmony and service.

On his arrival, the Governor was accorded a warm welcome by a cross-section of leaders and dignitaries. Prominent among those present were Shri Vishwakarma Charitable Trust head Pardeep Dhiman, Phagwara Congress MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, BJP Kapurthala district president Ranjit Singh Khojewal, former minister Manoranjan Kalia, and Ramgarhia Educational Trust chairperson Manpreet Bhogal. Senior civil and police officials, including Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Amit Panchal, Phagwara Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jashanjit Singh and Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora were present on the occasion.

After offering prayers at the temple, the Governor visited Shri Vishwakarma Charitable Hospital, an institution run under the aegis of the Trust. He interacted with members of the managing committee and took stock of the services being rendered to the public at the hospital.
