Kejriwal’s Vipassana trip to Punjab sparks criticism over massive security cover
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s Vipassana trip to Punjab has sparked sharp criticism from opposition leaders due to the massive security cover he arrived with. A video of his convoy, which included over 20 vehicles, a fire brigade, and an ambulance, went viral, prompting leaders to question the need for such a grand entrance.
Pargat Singh, Congress MLA from Jalandhar Cantt, criticised Kejriwal, saying, “Vipassana is for peace and relaxation of the mind. What’s the idea behind Kejriwal’s high-decibel entry to Punjab? A leader who used to boast that he was still using his WagonR is misusing the resources of Punjab. It is because of such leaders that the people have lost faith in politicians.”
SAD spokesperson Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema also slammed Kejriwal, asking, “What kind of Vipassana is this? Why is the entire Punjab administration on duty for a man with no constitutional post?”
Delhi BJP minister Manjinder S Sirsa posted a video criticising Kejriwal’s convoy, saying, “What kind of peace is Kejriwal looking for at the Vipassana Centre? He has over 100 commandos deployed to guard him. Perhaps he has got used to the VIP culture and cannot even meditate without all such paraphernalia around him.”
Not just the leaders of Punjab but even those from Delhi shared the videos.
Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal wrote on X, “The man who used to criticise VIP culture is now moving with a cover bigger than that of US President Donald Trump.”
