Jalandhar, August 2
Faridkot MP Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa and Tarsem Singh, father of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, today announced to organise a Panthic conference on August 19 at Baba Bakala.
The duo said the conference would be held from 11 am to 3 pm and they would discuss key issues of the Sikh Panth, including “atrocities” committed by the incumbent governments, and the release of Bandi Singhs (Sikh political prisoners).
They demanded withdrawal of the National Security Act (NSA) from the Sikh prisoners, including Khadoor Sahib MP.
They alleged that their supporters were being targeted and accused the state government of inaction in sacrilege cases registered against Dera Sacha Sauda head.
The duo added that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee hadn’t held elections for the past 13 years.
Speaking on the divide in the SAD and whether they would support the rebel group, the duo said, “We are not associated with any faction or party. We want the entire Panth to come together to discuss issues affecting Punjabis.”
