Nawanshahr, March 6

Members of Kirti Kisan Union will be attending the Kisan Mahapanchayat to be held at the Ramlila Ground in New Delhi in large numbers. The mahapanchayat will be held on March 14.

The Kirti Kisan Union held a meeting of its district-level workers in this regard. Union district secretary Tarsem Singh Bains and state committee member Bhupinder Singh Waraich said on March 14, workers of the Kirti Kisan Union would go to Delhi following a call given by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

Farmers’ meetings are being held in villages to ensure the success of the mahapanchayat so that pressure can be built on the Modi government at the Centre to accept their demands. Criticising the Haryana Government, which is oppressing farmers at the Punjab borders, union leaders said the Central Government should immediately talk to farmers and accept their demands. They said despite restrictions, Kirti Kisan Union members would reach Delhi to attend the mahapanchayat.
