Under the guidance of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Langroya, organised a five-day training course on natural farming as part of the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF).

The training, held from October 27 to 31, was attended by 20 farm women and progressive farmers, who received hands-on exposure to various processes, techniques, and modern approaches related to natural farming.

Inaugurating the program, Dr Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), briefed participants about the ongoing National Mission on Natural Farming in the district. He highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of natural farming and encouraged farmers to adopt these methods for sustainable crop production and better market returns through organic produce.

Dr Aarti Verma, Assistant Professor, conducted practical sessions demonstrating the preparation of natural formulations such as Beej Amrit, Jeev Amrit, Ghan Jeev Amrit, Neem Astra, Brahmastra, and Agni Astra. She urged participants to utilize the technical expertise and resources available at KVK and motivated them to adopt natural farming practices.

As part of the training, participants also visited the fields and Natural Haat of progressive farmer Sukhjinder Singh in village Majari, observing successful models of natural farming.

At the conclusion of the programme, trainees shared their learning experiences and expressed keen interest in implementing natural farming methods on their own farms.
