Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal conducted a review of ongoing development projects in rural areas today, directing officials from the Rural Development and Panchayat Department to personally oversee the quality and timely completion of all works.
During a meeting held at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner instructed Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) to conduct regular field visits to accelerate development initiatives. He emphasised the need for newly elected panchayats to be guided effectively in administrative matters to ensure efficient governance at the village level.
DC Panchal also stressed strict monitoring of projects under MGNREGA and reviewed waste management initiatives, including the construction of waste disposal pits in villages. He urged officials to promote awareness among village residents about adopting sustainable waste disposal methods.
Expressing concern over delays in the submission of utilisation certificates, the DC directed all BDPOs to submit the pending certificates within a week.
