Dr Surinder Pal Agnihotri, Principal of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Langroya, has been honoured with the Punjab State Award 2025 for his outstanding contributions to education, leadership and community service.
Known for his consistent dedication and innovative approach, Dr Agnihotri’s academic journey reflects excellence both in the classroom and beyond. A distinguished student from the outset, he actively participated in the NCC during his school and college years, earning a “C” certificate and serving as an Under Officer. He completed his MSc and MPhil in Physics with first division before beginning his teaching career at DAV Public School, Ludhiana, in 1992.
In 1997, he joined Government School Rahon as a Physics Lecturer, where he played a key role in launching the science stream. He later served at Government Senior Secondary School, Nawanshahr and worked as District Science Supervisor from 2011 to 2019. He was appointed Principal of GSSS Gobindpur in 2019 and has been leading GSSS Langroya since February 2022.
A strong advocate of environmental sustainability, Dr Agnihotri has introduced initiatives such as a water recharge system and environmental awareness campaigns.
He established a Mobile Science Lab using MP LAD funds, providing students hands-on experience in physics, chemistry, and biology. He has served as District Academic Coordinator for the Children’s Science Congress at both state and national levels. His efforts have been recognised, with commendations from education secretaries and other government officials.
