Last date to apply for scholarship extended

Giving major relief to students of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, who have not been able to apply for the post-matric scholarship scheme on the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal, the state government has extended the last date to apply for it till December 31.

The Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal was opened on November 4. It is for the fourth time that the deadline has been extended. Earlier, November 30 was the last day to apply for the scholarship. Later, it was extended to December 10. After some days, the deadline was December 15.

Officiating DC Kulwant Singh said the portal would function for the institutes to forward applications till January 7 and for the approving authority to send online proposals to the line department, it would work till January 17. He said the line department would be able to operate till January 27.

He said, “The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to post-matriculation or post-secondary students belonging to the reserved category so that they can complete their education. Students belonging to the SC community should avail the opportunity to apply for the scholarship scheme.” — TNS
