In a significant political development, the entire panchayat of village Dhakk Pandori in Phagwara Assembly constituency announced its decision to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the leadership of Sarpanch Vijay Kumar. To welcome the new members, AAP constituency in-charge Joginder Singh Mann arrived in the village and assured them of respect and support within the party.
Addressing the gathering, Mann reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring holistic development in the village. As a first step, he inaugurated a project worth Rs 3 lakh to pave the streets of the village. He also urged the panchayat to submit proposals for any pending development works so that the necessary grants could be arranged at the earliest.
Senior AAP leader Kashmir Singh Khalwara, who was also present on the occasion, emphasised that AAP has emerged as the first choice of the people of Punjab. He predicted that several more panchayats would soon join the party, recognising the development-oriented approach of the Bhagwant Mann-led state government.
Sarpanch Vijay Kumar praised the efforts of Joginder Singh Mann, stating that under the AAP government, the village has witnessed significant progress. He said that this was the key reason why the entire panchayat unanimously decided to join AAP.
Prominent panchayat members including Mahinder Kaur, Nirmal Kaur, Kamlesh Rani, Surinder Kaur, Satpal Satti, Binder Pal Teji, Balwinder Pal, Mohan Lal Tailor Master and Prem KumarVillage were present on the occasion. Other attendees included Joginder Pal, Ajit Ram, Mahinder Pal, Jagdish Kumar, Dhanpat Rai, Dalveer Gaggi, Satpal, Ravi Kumar, Surjit Kaur, Geeta Rani, Niranjan Kaur, Kanta Rani and Kartik Bodh.
