In compliance with directives from the National Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority’s Member Secretary, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised Aadhaar registration camp for destitute children in Village Saroa on Saturday.

This initiative was part of the ongoing “Nalsa-Saathi” mission, focusing on the survey and tracking of Aadhaar registration to ensure total inclusion. The camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr Amandeep, Civil Judge (Senior Division) / CJ(M)-cum-Secretary of DLSA, in coordination with District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, DLSA, Priya Sood.

Aadhaar Enrollment Centre staff were on-site to assist with the registration process. Dr Amandeep explained that under the national SAATHI campaign, the DLSA had formed a District SAATHI Committee to ensure that no destitute child is excluded from receiving an Aadhaar card.

Paralegal volunteers from the committee conducted a district-wide door-to-door survey to identify children lacking Aadhaar identification. Eligible children were registered at the camp based on this survey.

Dr Amandeep further emphasised that the primary goal of the national campaign is to identify destitute children nationwide and ensure their inclusion in Aadhaar registration, legal aid services, and welfare schemes. The event was attended by DLSA staff, the SATHI Committee, Aadhaar Centre employees, panel advocates, paralegal volunteers, and school staff.
