Lohri celebration for 5,100 girls
Lohri was observed for 5,100 girls simultaneously at a farmhouse near here on Sunday. The event, organised by the owner of Johal Farms, an NRI, was graced by Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, she emphasised the importance of gender equality and the need to honour daughters. The celebration highlighted the significance of empowering women and ensuring their inclusion in all festivities.
Gurpreet Kaur Mann lauded the efforts of the organisers for promoting such a noble cause.
Several local leaders, social activists and public figures came together to support the initiative. Cultural programmes, including traditional folk performances, were part of the celebration.
