Lovely Professional University (LPU) secured the overall champion’s title at the All-India Inter-University (AIU) Rowing Championship held at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. The seven-day event witnessed fierce competition among over 400 women and 700 male rowers from universities across the country, highlighting the growing stature of rowing as a premier university sport in India.

With four sets of boats, Single Scull, Double and Quad, athletes from various teams pushed their limits on water, competing fiercely in 2-km and 500m races. Amidst intense competition, LPU’s rowers delivered an outstanding performance, clinching a remarkable 11 gold, three silver and two bronze medals. The men’s team contributed two gold, one silver and one bronze, while the women’s team dominated with nine gold and two silver medals, reinforcing LPU’s excellence in the sport.
