LPU making rapid strides on education front

Lovely Professional University (LPU), a global leader in higher education, set new standards in 2024, cementing its position as one of the world’s top educational institutions. With ground-breaking advancements in teaching, research, placements, sports and internationalisation, LPU redefined academic excellence on a global scale.

LPU made significant strides in 2024 by receiving NBA accreditation for its B.Tech (UG) programme.

In the global job market, LPU claimed over 2,100 national and multinational companies recruiting its graduates. Yasir M secured a remarkable Rs 3 crore package in Germany, and Pavan Kunchala got a Rs 1 crore package. More than 1,500 students have also secured packages ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 64 lakh, with top recruiters.

The university had 24 students representing India at the Olympics, making it the second largest contingent globally, only behind Stanford University, USA. Among these athletes, nine earned medals, including Neeraj Chopra’s historic silver in men’s javelin throw, while eight hockey players secured a bronze. LPU’s excellence extended to the Paralympics, where they claimed one gold and two silver medals. LPU was also honoured as the first runners-up in both the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy 2024 and the Khelo India University Games 2024, solidifying its position as a leader in sports achievement.

In the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, LPU secured second place in India and ranked 101-200 globally. The university ranked fourth in India and 126th worldwide in the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation.

The university offers more than 200 student mobility programmes, and students benefited from numerous study abroad opportunities in 2024.

Throughout 2024, LPU hosted several distinguished personalities, including the Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, who graced the 11th convocation as the chief guest. Distinguished figures also included actor Ashish Vidyarthi, who discussed business transformation at “Bizconfluence 2024”, and writer-actor Piyush Mishra, who celebrated literature at “Kitab Utsav 2024”. Entrepreneur Srikant Bolla, CEO of Bollant Industries, inspired students with his journey, while Sanjay Katkar, co-founder of Quick Heal, spoke on the future of cybersecurity.

LPU’s Pro-Chancellor, Rashmi Mittal, was conferred with the honorary Colonel rank in the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The university team secured first runners-up position at the Punjab State Youth Festival, 2024, and was crowned overall national winner at the 37th National Youth Festival.
