A group of youths allegedly abducted a woman student of Lovely Professional University here on Friday.

Her father, Vipin Malhotra, a resident of New Harkrishan Nagar here, told the police that his daughter went on an errand on a scooter and was abducted by three youths, who were holding her hostage.

Malhotra said he suspected Sukhbir Ghagh and Gurpartap Singh, residents of Nangal-Saprod village; and Rajat Mittal, a resident of the local Gilco Colony; to have abducted his daughter.

DSP Bharat Bhushan said the police had registered a case under Section 346 of the IPC against the three youths and were looking for the woman.
