The newly renovated Luv Kush Chowk at Hadiabad, Phagwara, was inaugurated today in a ceremony graced by former minister Joginder Singh Maan, AAP Halqa in-charge Harji Maan, Mayor Ram Pal Uppal and Municipal Commissioner Dr Akshita Gupta. The project, completed at a cost of Rs 2.45 lakh, has transformed the landmark with a fresh and meaningful identity, unveiled in time to mark the revered occasion of Bhagwan Balmiki.

At the heart of the chowk now stands a striking bow-and-arrow structure, symbolising the strength, valour and legacy of Luv and Kush, the sons of Lord Rama. The monument has been mounted on a pedestal finished with elegant brickwork and granite, ensuring both durability and dignity, while the surrounding area has been enhanced with freshly landscaped green hedges that lend an eco-friendly charm to the site.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries underlined that the rejuvenation of Luv Kush Chowk was not merely a beautification initiative but also a meaningful step in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening community pride and aligning with Phagwara’s broader vision of urban development. They stressed that such projects resonate deeply with local identity and encourage citizens to play an active role in maintaining their city.
