Man arrested for murdering wife

The police have arrested a person for allegedly murdering his wife. Gurdev Singh, a resident of village Landran under Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, has lodged a complaint with the police at Chabbewal. He said his sister Kavita was married to Manjit Singh, a resident of village Saidpur, about six years ago. The complainant alleged that Manjit started harassing his sister soon after the marriage.

He said the last day, his sister had told him on the phone that her husband was harassing and threatening to kill her. He told his sister to somehow spend the night and he would reach her in the morning. After this, late night Manjit told him on the phone that Kavita had committed suicide by hanging herself. When he reached there with his mother and relatives, his sister was dead. He alleged that his sister did not commit suicide but her husband allegedly murdered her. The police registered a case and arrested the accused after registering a case against him.
