Man arrested with five stolen motorcycles
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has recovered five stolen motorcycles and arrested a suspect.
Police officials revealed that a team from Police Division No. 8 intercepted a suspicious person during a routine check near Nehar Pulli Gadaipur, Jalandhar. The accused, identified as Pawandeep Singh, alias Pintu, was found in possession of a stolen motorcycle (PB09-AV-2939).
Following which, an FIR (No. 08) was registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2), BNS, at Police Station Division No. 8.
Further investigation uncovered that the accused had stolen more motorcycles, including a Hero Honda (PB08-FJ-0271), an Activa (PB08-DH-7470), a Hero Passion (PB09-AG-1894) and another Hero Splendor (PB08-EA-9663). All vehicles were recovered based on Pintu’s confession.
The police are now probing whether the accused is connected to a larger criminal network, though no prior criminal record has been reported so far.
Police officials reiterated the force's commitment to curbing crime and maintaining law and order in the city. "We are dedicated to tackling theft and ensuring the safety of citizens’ property," they said, adding that further investigations in the case were ongoing.
