Man booked for causing death by negligence

The Lohian Khas police have booked a car driver for causing death by negligence. Investigating Officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said the accused was identified as Ajit Singh, a resident of Nahl village.

Harjit Singh, a resident of Fareed Sarai village in Kapurthala district, complained to the police that the accused, who was driving his car at high speed and negligently, hit his brother Kulwant Singh, who riding on his motorcycle near Lohian, leaving him seriously injured him. Kulwant was rushed to a nearby clinic where he died, the complainant said.

The IO said a case under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 281 (rash driving on public way) and 324 (mischief) of the BNS had been registered against the car driver.
