Man killed in road accident near Sultanpur Lodhi

A fatal road accident occurred near Dalla village in Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala district, on Friday afternoon, claiming the life of a motorcyclist after a speeding milk tanker collided with his bike.

The victim has been identified as Boota Singh, a resident of Gatta Dalel village in Ferozepur district. Singh worked as an accountant at a store located on Kala Sanghian Road.

According to police sources, the incident took place around 1.30 pm, while Singh was en route to his workplace in Lohian Khas on his motorcycle. As he attempted to cross the road near Tarapur Chowk, a milk tanker on high-speed struck him. Eyewitnesses reported that the impact of the collision was so severe that the tanker dragged the motorcycle for a considerable distance, leading to Singh’s death on the spot.

Local police from Dalla outpost arrived at the spot shortly after being alerted. The body was taken into custody and transported to the Civil Hospital in Sultanpur Lodhi for a post-mortem examination.

Family members of the deceased have demanded legal action against driver of the tanker. The police confirmed that an investigation had been initiated and further steps would be taken based on the statements of the family of the deceased and eyewitnesses.
