In a major breakthrough, the Begowal police have arrested a suspect and recovered 10 motorcycles under the supervision of DSP, Bholath, Karnail Singh.

Talking to newspersons here today, SSP Gaurav Toora said several motorcycles had been reportedly stolen during the recent annual religious gathering held in memory of Sant Baba Prem Singh Muralewale. Additionally, multiple thefts had been reported from the Begowal area in recent weeks.

Acting swiftly, SHO Harjinder Singh, along with ASI Arvinderjeet Singh, initiated an investigation. Using CCTV footage and a confidential tip-off, the police identified and arrested the suspect Gursewak Singh, alias Karan, a resident of Bharth village in Gurdaspur district.

The accused was nabbed with a stolen motorcycle. On interrogation and based on his disclosure, the police recovered nine additional motorcycles stolen from various locations.

A formal case has been registered against Gursewak Singh.
