Jalandhar, July 5
On the second consecutive day of campaigning for the Jalandhar West bypoll, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann mentioned Angural-Rinku duo today. However, he did not mention the charges levelled by Angural. After daring the former AAP MLA to release evidences against him, the CM has been refraining from speaking on charges levelled by Sheetal Angural directly.
However, he made many indirect references to both Sheetal Angural and Sushil Rinku today. The CM today held meetings at Raseela Nagar, Tahli Wala Chowk and Dussehra Ground in Jalandhar West constituency. Addressing congregations in the West segment, the CM repeatedly said AAP committed a mistake by choosing the former Jalandhar West candidate for the party.
The CM said, “Jalandhar West should never have gone to bypoll. It’s happening due to the vested interests and greed of one man. First AAP made Angural MLA from here and now he wants to win again on the BJP ticket. But God does everything for a reason. The chair had to be vacated for a decent man.”
Speaking at another meeting, the CM said, “If there was a machine to check the vices in people’s hearts, I would have bought it. I worked so hard to canvass for Rinku in the 2023 Jalandhar bypoll.”
The CM today reiterated that he had shifted to Jalandhar to serve the people of Majha and Doaba and was always available to them. He said, “I will go wherever people call me. I will attend even small meetings. Problems will be solved.”
He also reiterated that neither him nor Delhi CM Kejriwal were in politics for money. He said they could have earned plenty of money through their former professions. On full campaign mode, the CM is meeting industrialists and traders for the past two days. He also met doctors today.
