Following a report by in Jalandhar Tribune titled 'Circus, bazaar come up at sports hub project site at Burlton Park', Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain visited the site this afternoon and ordered the exhibitors to wind up their setup by Sunday afternoon.

Jain along with Superintending Engineer Rahul Dhawan and other officials inspected the site after which they decided that the circus and bazaar were required to be removed as they were a "hindrance to the ongoing construction work" for setting up multi-purpose sports hall just near the site. After this, Jain told the exhibitors that they have to remove all stalls, equipment and tents by 2 pm on Sunday, failing which they could be penalised.

Congress leaders and representatives of the cracker market association too had gathered at the site during Jain's visit. They alleged that even as 5,000 sq feet area had been allocated to the exhibitors, they had covered up more space. The cracker market association had been demanding that if a circus had been allowed at the site, they too should be allowed to continue to hold cracker stalls in the festival season in the months to come.
