The Municipal Corporation has launched a cleanliness drive from October 24 to November 7 under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
In a meeting with officials from various departments, schools, colleges and representatives of social service organisations, MC Commissioner Commissioner Navneet Kaur Ball outlined plans for the 15-day campaign.
The initiative aims to raise awareness on maintaining cleanliness in the city by organising special drives at key locations such as wards, markets, parks, railway stations, bus stands, religious places, schools, colleges and hospitals.
In addition, awareness camps will be held to educate citizens on segregating wet and dry waste, composting wet waste and avoiding littering and burning garbage. She appealed to the public to actively participate in the cleanliness drive and contribute towards keeping the city clean and hygienic.
