Taking strict action against those who have not deposited their property tax due for the last several years, the Municipal Corporation has decided to seal such properties.

Municipal Commissioner Dr Amandeep Kaur said that strict action was taken against shopkeepers/owners who did not deposit their tax dues despite the notices issued. She said that two shops were sealed on Purana Tanda Road and in Pipalanwala. Tax Superintendent Kulwinder Singh, Inspector Rekha Rani and their teams sealed two other shops in Adda Mahilpur.

The MC Commissioner said that defaulters who have not been paying their tax for a long time have been issued notices. Seventy five defaulters have been appealed to deposit their tax on time failing which their property will be sealed by the Municipal Corporation.
