Medical camps in Kapurthala focus on oral health awareness

Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajiv Parashar visited several flood-affected areas in Kapurthala on Monday to assess the functioning of special medical camps.

During his inspection of emergency health services at Baupur Mand, Ahli Kalan and Sultanpur Lodhi Civil Hospital, Dr Parashar instructed SMO Dr D P Singh to prioritise treatment for patients from flood-affected villages. He also interacted with patients in the emergency ward, wishing them a speedy recovery.

Dr Parashar reassured residents that the Health Department remains committed to providing round-the-clock services. He directed medical staff to conduct door-to-door fever surveys and distribute medicine kits. The Civil Surgeon emphasised preventive health measures, advising the public to drink boiled water, wear full-sleeved clothing, use mosquito nets, wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, and maintain good hand hygiene. Orders were also issued for fogging operations twice daily in affected areas.

Later, Dr Parashar held a meeting with medical teams to discuss ongoing challenges and ensured uninterrupted patient care.

In a separate meeting chaired by DDHO Dr Moninder Kaur, the Dental Department reviewed last month’s activities and planned future initiatives. Dr Kaur stressed the importance of oral cancer awareness and directed dental officers to intensify screening efforts and public awareness campaigns. She also emphasised the need to keep patient records updated and ensure continuous care during the flood crisis.
