Jalandhar: The Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus organised a workshop for career guidance facilitators of various educational institutions. Around 50 participants from 15 educational institutes of Jalandhar and Phagwara attended the workshop. Kanika Chopra, assistant professor in business communications, coordinated the event and welcomed the educators. She elaborated on instructional styles and strategies, pedagogical tools, teaching methodologies that could be employed to make learning conducive for students. Citing examples of pedagogical tools such as teaching through cases, field visits, industrial trips, Chopra explained how to nurture creativity and innovative instincts of students. She also highlighted the significance of providing opportunities to students to showcase their co-curricular acumen as these helped in comprehensive development of students.
Workshop on digital marketing
Jalandhar: A workshop on digital marketing was organised by the Department of Commerce and Business Management of DAV College. Tarun Kumar, founder of Noastrix Pvt Ltd, and Santosh Yaduvanshi, founder of Ecom Conversion, were the resource persons for theevent. The workshop was aimed at giving participants insights into the world of digital marketing. They were told how they could leverage market research from freely available resources such as Facebook and Google. They were told how various e-commerce apps such as TikTok could be used as an earning source for many.
HMV students excel in GNDU exams
Jalandhar: Semester-I students of BSc (IT) of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya bagged first two positions in Guru Nanak Dev University examinations. Madhu stood first in the university with 330 marks and Vaishnavi stood second with 322 marks out of 400. Prof Ajay Sareen, principal, and Dr Kanwaldeep Kaur, head of Commerce Department, congratulated the students. On the occasion, Dr Sangeeta Arora, head, Computer Science Department, was also present.
Annual Sports Day
Jalandhar: Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, organised its annual Sports Day on the college campus. The special day was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mohinder Singh Kaypee, Chairman, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training. The valedictory and prize distribution function was presided over by Fauja Singh, British Sikh centenarian marathon runner. Coaches for college teams, Varinder Singh and Kulbir Singh, were also honoured on the day. Fauja Singh and explained the importance of selfless service to students. He also appreciated the students who participated in sports. He wished them luck for future endeavours. Principal Dr Navjot applauded and appreciated the efforts of the staff to organise the event.
Central Excise Day celebrated
Jalandhar: Students of Eklavya School celebrated the Central Excise Day. They were told about the purpose behind paying tax to the government. Students were told that they must live in dignity with exercise their rights of equality, dignity and religious freedom. The event began with an impressive speech by Brahmjot of Class VIII on the Central Excise Duty Day in the country in which she highlighted the importance of the day. Later, middle school students made beautiful mind maps on Fundamental Rights. Students took part in slogan-writing competition on the topic. School Chairperson JK Gupta and Director Seema Handa appreciated the efforts put by students and urged them to become good citizens.
