Following a call given by the Lok Insaf Manch, in coordination with the Ambedkar Sabha, a tehsil-level “Samvidhan Bachao Chetna March” (Save the Constitution Awareness March) was taken out from Phillaur city on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.

The march went around villages near the city and ended at Guru Ravidas Mandir, Noor Mahal Road, Phillaur. People gathered at Dr Ambedkar Chowk in Phillaur for the “Samvidhan Bachao Chetna March” and after offering floral tributes at the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar and distributing laddus, the march set off with a large number of people riding motorcycles and cars joining in the convoy.

Hundreds of motorcycles and vehicles participated in the march and the call to save the Constitution was given even in the villages. People were exhorted to maintain unity and communal harmony.

On the occasion, leaders of Lok Insaf Manch including its president Jarnail Phillaur, chief spokesperson Sanjeev Bhaura, secretary Parshottam, senior vice-president Master Hans Raj, and finance secretary Dr Sandeep Kumar, said that anti-national forces were trying to damage the spirit of brotherhood and it will be given a befitting reply. A call was given in the villages to maintain communal harmony.
