Representatives of the Mini-Bus Bachao `Action Committee Surjit Singh Soeta and Jarnail S Garhdiwala have written to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, seeking tax waiver for four months and an immediate relief of Rs 20,000 per mini-bus to the operators.

The operators alleged while permits of 4,000 buses had been cancelled in 2018 by the state government, a political family in the state was allowed to operate 1,000 of the 3,000 big buses.

They suggested that the relief fund would not be much of a burden on the state government as it could come from the Sukhmani Sewa Society funds in all districts.
