Minister flags off first bus for Salasar Dham

Under the Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Scheme started by the Punjab Government, Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa flagged off the first bus for Salasar Dham and Khatu Shyam here on Tuesday. Mayor Surinder Kumar, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjita Chaudhary, MC Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu and Hoshiarpur SDM Preetinder Singh Bains were also present.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Jimpa said with the launch of this scheme, the people of Punjab would be able to visit different pilgrimage places across the country. The facility of travel is provided free of cost. He said the Punjab Government would bear the expenses of the passengers travelling under the scheme, which bears all expenses of their travel, accommodation and food.
The Cabinet Minister said under this scheme, a trip to holy places like Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded), Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Bihar), Varanasi, Ayodhya and Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh), and Ajmer (Rajasthan) would be organised. Apart from this, trips to places like Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Salasar Dham, Sri Khatu Shyam, Mata Chintpurni, Mata Vaishno Devi, Mata Jwala ji, etc, would be organised.
He said arrangements had been made for daily buses and trains from different places of Punjab to visit these pilgrimage places.
Bram Shankar Jimpa, while wishing the pilgrims, said the state government had made arrangements for two types of means to go on this pilgrimage. He said the mode of travel for long distance religious places would be train and for short distance the mode of travel would be AC buses. A budget of Rs 40 crore had been kept for this special scheme of the state government during the financial year 2023-24.
