Minister urges students to study in govt schools

In the last few months, the government has provided funds to the tune of more than Rs 40 crore for the rejuvenation of government schools in the district, to help bring about an all-round development. Local Bodies Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said this while launching the admission campaign in government schools from Government Primary School, Baghpur, today.

He said that funds worth over Rs 40 crore were released by the government for works like the construction of boundary walls of schools, repair work, construction of classrooms, strengthening the infrastructure of Schools of Happiness, Schools of Eminence and other institutions.

Calling upon children to study in government schools, Dr Ravjot Singh said that world class infrastructure has been established by preparing the government schools of the state as per the requirements of the present times. He said that the aim of the admission campaign is to make children aware of the facilities available in government schools and get them admitted there. Teachers of government schools have been trained in countries like Singapore and Finland, which will prove to be beneficial for students as well as teachers, he said.

Flagging off an awareness van under the admission campaign, the minister said that under the admission campaign started today in the district, teachers, students and staff of various schools will create awareness about admissions in their respective areas. — OC
