Independent MLA from Sultanpur Lodhi Rana Inder Partap Singh on Saturday announced that a state-of-the-art stadium with facility for different kinds of sports, an all-weather swimming pool and a world-class gymnasium would come up in town soon. The MLA was addressing “Navin Soch, Nawan Punjab” rally in his constituency here this afternoon.

Partap also promised to provide potable water supply in the constituency by laying 29 km long pipelines. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said, “Before the 2022 Assembly elections, I had promised sewerage system for the constituency and I fulfilled the promise. Roads may have been damaged as these were dug to lay 14 feet deep sewer lines. The repair and construction of roads will also start soon.”

Son of Kapurthala Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh, he said, “This is the land of Guru Nanak Dev and he has blessed me to serve you. I will fulfil all promises I have made with you.”

According to Rana Inder Partap Singh, an amount of Rs 220 crore allocated by the Government of India for Sultanpur Lodhi Smart City projects had lapsed before he was elected as the MLA. “I met union ministers and managed to resume allocations. We will receive

Rs 50 crore and our constituency will become an example in the entire state,” he said.
