Lying completely low since he got released on bail following two cases of alleged corruption and extortion against him, Jalandhar Central AAP MLA Raman Arora finally attended special session of the Vidhan Sabha at Anandpur Sahib on Monday.
Arora got a formal invite to attend the session by Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. Deputy Director, Factories, was appointed as the Protocol Officer with Arora for escorting him from his place to Anandpur Sahib for the session and back. Before attending the session, Arora also paid obeisance at the gurdwara during the ongoing 350th martyrdom day programme being observed in the holy city.
Arora reportedly met the ministers but he somehow did not get a chance to meet AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann during the 2.5 hour session. The MLA had skipped the previous session held last month.
Ever since Arora got released, it was for the first time that he got the due status of a legislator. For the past two months, he has not been attending any political event. All inauguration functions in his Assembly segment are being chaired by halqa in-charge of the party Nitin Kohli.
Arora had two weeks ago alleged that he had received a threat call. He had met the Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur. He had even lodged a complaint in the CM portal and sent the details to all top officials, including DGP Gaurav Yadav. The police have so far not even started inquiring into the matter.
