According to the prison authorities, the operation was conducted in the barracks to check for unauthorised items. During the inspection of Ward No. 1, inmate Kuldeep Singh, alias Khadi, 31, resident of Jagjit Nagar, Hamira, was subjected to a personal search. He was found in possession of a mobile phone concealed in the fold of his pyjama. The device contained a SIM card.
