Mother-daughter gang-rape case: Fourth minor accused arrested by Jalandhar police
The victims’ family members, including a 5-month-old child, were held hostage
The Jalandhar Rural police have arrested the last accused, a minor, in the Lohian gang-rape case. Earlier, three adults were arrested for gang-raping a mother-daughter duo at gunpoint in a field room on November 24.
SSP Harvinder Singh Virk stated that the incident occurred around 12.30 am, when the victims, aged 35 and 19, were attacked by four men. The victims’ family members, including a 5-month-old child, were held hostage.
A case was registered at the Lohian police station under Sections 64, 70(1), and 351(2) of the BNS. The three accused (aged between 18 and 19) were arrested on November 29 while the minor accused (aged 14) was arrested later. The police seized two motorcycles and weapons used in the crime.
A special team led by SP Investigation Sarabjit Rai and comprising senior officers arrested the accused. SSP Virk assured that the Jalandhar police won’t tolerate such crimes and will maintain law and order.
