While the Hindon-Nanded circuit is already operational, this new route is expected to offer major relief and convenience to residents and traders across the Doaba region.
Jalandhar MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi announced that the first direct flight from Adampur to Mumbai will take off this Wednesday. Channi said he had consistently worked to enhance air connectivity from Adampur Airport and had also raised the issue in the Lok Sabha.
He shared that he personally met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, urging him to focus on expanding flight services from Adampur. “After my meeting, the Adampur to Mumbai flight was approved,” he said.
Channi informed that the new flight service, operated by Indigo Airlines, would run daily from counters 3, 4, and 5 at Adampur Airport. Flight 6E 5931 will depart Mumbai at 12.55 pm and land in Adampur at 3.55 pm. The return flight, 6E 5932, will take off from Adampur at 3.50 pm and reach Mumbai by 6.30 pm.
He added that Adampur Airport authorities have extended necessary facilities and office space to Indigo Airlines to support the new route. Channi also mentioned that a formal request has been made to initiate Star Airlines services to Jaipur and Delhi from Adampur.
Expressing gratitude to Minister Naidu, Channi said, “These flights will not only offer a vital air travel facility to people of this region but also contribute significantly to the economic development and commercial growth of Doaba.”
