In addition, the MP requested an exemption for Punjab from paying GST for the next two years as part of the relief efforts. He also announced that he would prioritize the release of remaining MPLAD funds for the current year to aid the flood-affected areas and victims of the disaster. The Deputy Commissioner briefed the MP on the ongoing situation concerning the Dhussi Bandh in the district.
