Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora visited the NOC camp for residents conducted by the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) on 200-feet Road, near Flower Enclave, Ludhiana, on Saturday.

On the occasion, Arora distributed 25 no objection certificates (NOCs) among the residents.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the GLADA office was taking steps to facilitate applicants seeking regularisation of plots and buildings in unauthorised colonies, adding that to accommodate them, the GLADA office was assisting the public by organising special NOC camps. The camps provide a platform for the applicants to address any NOC-related issues and obtain necessary certificates.

He said GLADA would hold such camps every week for facilitating the public.

Arora said he was not aware of the situation that the people were facing problems due to the NOC.

He said he held a first meeting with the GLADA authorities on March 14 after coming to know about the issues. After his intervention in the matter, the situation had improved a lot. So far, around 1,000 NOCs had been issued.

The MP said all pending NOCs would be issued to the public by GLADA till March 31. If someone had given fresh application for getting the NOC, it would be issued within 30 days of filing of the application.

Arora said he had learnt that these NOC cases were pending for the past about two years, due to which the public was getting harassed.

He also made an appeal to the public not to give money to any mediator for getting the NOCs and if anyone asks money for the same, the matter should be brought either to his notice or the GLADA authorities.
