A campaign against drugs was launched at Jangliana village by MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal. Villagers, including youth, women and elders, showed overwhelming support and pledged to make their village drug-free.

Chabbewal said that, “Drugs were destroying homes. This is not the time to remain silent, this is the time to fight. We don’t need tears in our eyes, but the shine of hope,” he said.

He assured that all possible help, rehabilitation, and respect would be provided by the government to youth coming out of the trap of addiction. He also informed that a special anti-drug campaign had been launched in the region, where schools, panchayats, social organisations, and administration would work together.

MLA Dr. Ishank sent a strong message by saying that 'Drug-Free Punjab' is no longer just a campaign, but it is a revolution.”

At the end of the event, those present took an anti-drug pledge.
