Even as the Covid cases have been on a decline, Dr Vandana Goel (49), Consultant Anesthesiologist at Sacred Heart Hospital, is still of the view that Covid hasn’t yet evaporated. It is very much a part of us. The city-based doctor herself contracted the virus, last year, in the first week of September. Describing the severity of the virus, Vandana says, “Though as a health practitioner, I guide people and treat patients, so it helped me recover from the virus,” added Goel. Headache and fever were the first symptoms when she sensed that she had Covid. After getting herself tested the in the first week of September, she tested positive. While she knew what medication had to be taken in order to recover quickly, she wanted to keep her family safe.
When I tested positive, I was only concerned about my family. Without wasting time, I immediately isolated myself in a separate room and it took us three weeks to recover. In the meantime, I tried to stay positive and read a lot of books.

My activities during the quarantine period included; Yoga, meditation, reading books, talking to friends and extended family and others. Besides, I made sure I was taking a proper diet,” said Vandana.
