In a decisive move against corruption, the Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Anurag Verma, has ordered the immediate suspension of naib tehsildar Parveen Kumar and registry clerk Satveer Singh, both posted at Bhunga following serious allegations of corruption.
According to official sources, the two revenue officials allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 for processing the registration of a sale deed. Acting on the gravity of the complaint, the Financial Commissioner issued orders for their suspension with immediate effect.
During the suspension period, the headquarters of the accused officers will be relocated to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Faridkot.
DC, Hoshiarpur, Aashika Jain, confirmed the suspension of the officials. The orders had been communicated to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Hoshiarpur, tehsildar Hoshiarpur, and the officials to ensure prompt implementation.
