The cybercrime police station, Jalandhar (Rural), has booked unidentified persons on the charge of duping a Nakodar resident of Rs 80 lakh by posing themselves as cops.

Amarjit Singh of Aadramaan village in Nakodar subdivision complained to the SSP, Jalandhar (Rural), that unidentified persons duped him of Rs 80 lakh by impersonating as policemen and threatening to register an FIR against him on the charge indulging in pornography.

Investigating Officer (IO) Surinder Kumar said the SSP ordered an inquiry and registration of a case under Sections 318(4) and 319(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita against unidentified suspects.
