In the second phase of the Punjab Hockey League 2025, jointly organised by Hockey Punjab and Round Glass Sports, four teams emerged victorious: Round Glass, Naval Tata Jamshedpur, SAI Sonipat and Namdhari Academy.
In the first match, held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, SAI Sonipat triumphed over SDAT Tamil Nadu with a 3-0 scoreline. Goals were scored by Happy, Navraj Singh, and Mithlesh Yadav. Sunil of SAI Sonipat was named the best player of the match.
The second match saw Namdhari Academy defeat Gumhera Hockey Academy 2-0. Yuvraj Singh netted both goals for Namdhari, while Mandeep Singh was awarded the best player of the match.
Naval Tata Academy Jamshedpur clinched a 4-3 win against Surjit Hockey Academy Jalandhar in a thrilling encounter. Sabian Kiro scored twice for Naval Tata, while Ashish Tani Purti and Afridi added one goal each. Surjit Academy’s goals came from Manmeet Singh Rai, Charanjit Singh, and Abhishek Gorkhi.
In the final match of the day, Round Glass Hockey Academy edged past SGPC Academy Amritsar 4-3. Gurvinder Singh, Gursewak Singh, Sunny, and Japneet Singh scored for Round Glass, while Harvinder Singh netted twice and Mehakdeep Singh added one goal for SGPC.
Olympian Manpreet Singh, former captain of the Indian hockey team, along with Olympians Dilpreet Singh, Shamsher Singh, and Hardik Singh, graced the event as the chief guests and introduced the teams. Other dignitaries present included Olympians Rajinder Singh Senior, Sanjeev Kumar, and Amrik Singh Powar, General Secretary of Hockey Punjab.
