National Youth Day celebrated at MLU DAV College

National Youth Day was celebrated at MLU DAV College, Phagwara, by the Red Ribbon Club. The event was held under the supervision of Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, to promote awareness about HIV AIDS and TB. A poster-making competition was also organised on the occasion, wherein several students participated. The students were also provided information about Swami Vivekananda and the significance of the day by the principal. He added that Swami ji made a substantial contribution to raising awareness about mental fortitude as well as about the importance of education to build the nation. He also proposed that everyone should be aware of the societal evils such as HIV AIDS and TB to ensure that the youth remain healthy and fit. He acknowledged the participants’ efforts.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
